Asia Innovation Challenge 2016



Goal
Through the process of “Asia Innovation Challenge”, students will develop the following competencies:
  • Global communication and team management
  • Research and data analysis
  • Work schedule management
  • Presentation skills
  • Creativity
 
Who can join AIC?
  • Age 16 to 18
  • Students who are willing to work with Japanese students in a team
  • Student number per team per country is 2. (Total number of students per team is 4)
  • Students who agree to be photographed and videotaped for publicity of Junior Achievement and FedEx
  • Students must submit pre and post survey
  • Students must have email address and Facebook account

Communication tool
Teams are allowed to use any communication tools such as Facebook, LINE, Skype, or anything preferred. Communication with contest administrator should be done via email and the Facebook page only open to the registered participants, so everyone needs to have a Facebook account.

Start-up team communications, fill in worksheet
All rules and schedule will be available on the Facebook page only open to the contest participants after November 12, 2016.
After that Singapore and Japanese members communicate in team using Skype, Facebook, or any SNS and fill required basic business plan in the form. Business mentor for each team gives feedback on the form. 
January, 2017
Screening
Based on the finalized worksheet, teams develop a Microsoft PowerPoint slides and receive feedback from business mentor. Both worksheet and PowerPoint file are evaluated by judges. 
Mid February
Finalists announcement
7 teams who advance to the final presentation are announced on the Facebook page.

Prepare for presentation
Share the role for final presentation among team members in Singapore & Japan
Sunday, March 26
Final Presentation
All finalists get together at a meeting place in Singapore & Japan. Two sites are connected using FedEx video conference system and teams give a presentation working together. 1st – 3rd place is awarded.
Award
1st place: Travel to one of the target countries (TBD by JA Japan & Singapore)
2nd place:USD500 per team (USD250 per country)
3rd place:USD200 per team (USD100 per country)
